One Response to “I’ve read that supplements can be good for dogs http://dogtime.com/nutritional-supplements.html?”
Technically, if you are feeding a complete and balanced diet, your dog will not need supplements. But say, if your dog is a senior with joint problems, adding a supplement such as Glucosamine and Chondrotin will help alleviate that problem. Or if you feed raw diet, digestive enzymes will help your dog process it. Fish oils will help a dry and itchy coat, etc. They can never do harm, unless you are over supplementing. But again, a balanced diet like raw foods Nature’s Variety, Bravo, Northwest Natural, Steve’s Real Food, etc. or processed foods such as Solid Gold, Blue Buffalo, Chicken Soup For the Dog’s Soul, Innova, Orijen, Wellness, etc. are most likely going to be of adequate nutritional value for your dog.
