For example, is a protein supplement that costs $75/bottle better than a protein supplement that costs only $30/bottle?

If you make sure that it has what you need in it, than the cost will probably be determined by the brand.
They offer plenty of protein supplements at Wal Mart for a lower price from rather than going to a GNC store.

Yes, kinda. First off, theres different kinds of proteins and different qualities. If your using the $30 walmart brand and its giving you gas and stomach problems, you know thats crappy protein. You should really do some research into the different kinds of proteins, but basicly the best type of whey protein is whey protein isolate, but it tends to be the more expensive type.
